Gears of War: E-Day Gets Performance and Stability Improvements, Bug Fixes Ahead of Launch

The Coalition has released a new update for Gears of War: E-Day ahead of its global release. Thanking those who spent time with the cover shooter during its advanced access period, the studio has said that the update brings a host of performance improvements to the title and also gives players better options to report any issues they might be facing in the game.

When it comes to multiplayer, Gears of War: E-Day’s update has fixed issues that players could face on the “Waiting for players” screen in Versus Social matches. Xbox authentication has been improved as well, fixing an issue that might pop up if the system clock is too different from the real time.

Fans of the single-player also have plenty to look forward to, with various missions across Acts 2 and 4 getting fixed. A potential issue where some players could be stuck to turrets during the beginning of a cinematic or a gameplay moment has been fixed, and the studio has addressed a progression-related issue where some co-op players could end up getting War Journal progress and Forge rewards before even joining a session.

Gears of War: E-Day is available on PC and Xbox Series X/S later today. For more, check out our review. Also take a look at the impressive techniques used by the studio to ensure that the Xbox Series S version of the game doesn’t fall behind the Series X version.
