State of Play Confirmed for February 12th With a 60+ Minute Runtime

Sony has officially confirmed that the next State of Play will air on February 12th at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET following numerous rumors (and even an accidental retweet). The showcase promises over 60 minutes of “news, gameplay updates, and announcements” from studios worldwide, including the “latest” from PlayStation Studios.

Of course, you can also expect “eye-catching” third-party and indie games to appear. Right off the bat, it seems a given that we’ll see titles like Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, potentially with a release date, and new gameplay for Saros, which launches in April. Marvel’s Wolverine may be more of an unknown, since Insomniac’s titles typically begin marketing closer to launch.

However, it also wouldn’t be surprising if 4:Loop from Bad Robot Games and Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth received a closer look. Fairgame$ hasn’t received any updates since its May 2023 announcement (aside from Haven Studios founder Jade Raymond departing), so maybe it will appear. In terms of potential bombshells, Starfield for PS5 alongside the announcement of its second expansion, the rumored 2.5D God of War spin-off, and maybe even Silent Hill: Townfall could make an impact.

Then again, we may just see more from Horizon Hunters Gathering. Time will tell, so stay tuned for updates.
