Instead of highlighting Atsu’s deadly prowess with a different weapon, Sucker Punch’s latest Ghost of Yōtei video is something far more serene. It’s a nearly ten-minute look at Ezo, the setting for the open-world title, with its gorgeous locales set to Tomo Otowa’s “The North.”
Between lush forests, snowy ridges, and fields of flowers, Ezo is a visually stunning place to behold, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t extensive danger around every corner. As Atsu ventures into the land, hunting the Yōtei Six, she must contend with mercenaries seeking the bounty on her head. Fortunately, she’s capable of defending herself with dual blades, the odachi, firearms, and more.
Depending on where Atsu decides to pursue clues, her journey through Ezo can take different paths. Of course, you can also roam the world with your horse, basking in the atmosphere and visuals. Sucker Punch sought to realistically depict Hokkaido, which you can learn more about here.
Ghost of Yōtei launches on October 2nd for PS5. It’s slated to appear at Tokyo Game Show later this month, so stay tuned for more details.
