S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Gets New Trailer Showcasing PS5, PS5 Pro Features

While developer GSC Game World had already confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be coming to the PS5 on November 20, the studio has also released a new trailer celebrating this announcement. The trailer, which you can check out below, focuses on the different features that the PS5 release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will include.

Headlining the feature set of the PS5 release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is the fact that the game will make full use of the DualSense controller’s unique hardware. This means that players will be able to hear radio chatter through the controller’s own microphone. The adaptive triggers are also in play, offering players resistance depending on the kinds of guns they use and what their current state of repair might be. Along with this, aiming in the first-person shooter can be made more intuitive thanks to the DualSense’s gyroscope and accelerometer.

As for features of the PS5 itself that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will use, the title will have full support for Tempest 3D Audio, through which the console can deliver high-quality directional audio into headsets. Haptic feedback will also be available in the game, giving players a more immersive experience when engaging with the different aspects of gameplay offered by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

The trailer also hints at more visual fidelity-centric features for the PS5 Pro, including improved shadow quality and resolution, higher-quality reflections, improved volumetric fog, and enhanced global illumination, among other graphical features. The impressive list of PS5 features is wrapped up with the fact that the title will also allow for touchpad gestures for various things, like playing an in-game guitar, as well as full support for PlayStation Trophies.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl on PS5 is available for pre-order, with a standard edition priced at $59.99. The game is also available in the form of a Deluxe Edition. Priced at $79.99, the Deluxe Edition includes a bonus side quest, a Deluxe Weapons and Suit pack, a digital artbook, and a digital soundtrack. There is also a $109.99 Ultimate Edition, which also includes the Ultimate Weapons and Suit Pack and the game’s Season Pass along with all of the contents of the Deluxe Edition. The Season Pass will give players access to two story expansions being developed for the game, as well as other “future DLC”.

Since its release last November, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been getting support from GSC Game World through the release of post-launch updates. Back in August, the studio had confirmed that it was working on improving the game in various ways, including updates to A-Life 2.0, changes to mutants and combat, and adjustment of the length of the in-game day/night cycle. A higher difficulty mode, dubbed Master Difficulty, is also in development for the game.
